1.8. I can download and save files from the internet

In this video, we will learn how to download files and locate files that we downloaded.

On your computer, open Chrome.
  1. Go to the webpage where you want to download the file.

  2. Save the file:

    • Most files: Click on the download link.

  •  Or, right-click on the file (1 ) and choose Save link as (2 ).

  • Images: Right-click on the image and choose Save Image As.


  • Videos: Point to the video. Save video as, or if download link exists click on the link. If there is no download link and no option for Save video as on right-click the video's owner or hosting site has prevented downloads.

  • PDFs: Modern browsers usually open pdf files in a new window with the download link in the top right corner, if that is not the case PDF file will be downloaded like any other file

Webpages: Right-click on any blank part of the webpage chose Save as


4. If asked, choose where you want to save the file, then click Save.


  • Executable files (.exe, .dll, .bat): If you trust the file, confirm by clicking Save. If you're not sure about the contents of the download, click Discard.

  • 5. When the download finishes, you'll see it at the bottom of your Chrome window. Click the file name to open it.
