Cyberbullying


Cyberbullying encompasses using digital platforms to harass or harm others, often through hurtful messages or sharing private information. Distinguishing between harmless joking and bullying is crucial, with persistent, offensive behavior constituting cyberbullying. Reporting incidents to trusted adults, online platforms, law enforcement, or schools is vital to address and prevent further harm.


The key objectives of this section are to :

  1. Increase awareness among participants about the prevalence and impact of cyberbullying on mental health and well-being.
  2. Equip participants with strategies and resources to recognize and respond to cyberbullying effectively, including knowing when and how to seek help from trusted adults or authorities.
  3. Foster a culture of empathy, respect, and responsible digital citizenship to prevent cyberbullying and promote positive online interactions and behaviors.

Competencies you are developing:

  1. Digital Literacy: enhancing your understanding of digital communication platforms and their ability to navigate online environments safely and responsibly, including recognizing signs of cyberbullying.
  2. Emotional Intelligence: Developing your empathy and emotional awareness to recognize the impact of cyberbullying on yourself and others, as well as to respond appropriately with empathy and support.
  3. Advocacy and Support: Equipping you with the skills and knowledge to advocate for yourself and others affected by cyberbullying, including knowing how to seek help from trusted adults or authorities and providing support to victims.
