Ransomware


Ransomware encrypts data and demands payment, often in Bitcoin, for decryption. Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS) allows non-experts to launch attacks, facilitated by the dark web. Paying ransom is discouraged by law enforcement due to no guarantee of data retrieval and funding illegal activities.


The key objectives for this section are to :

  1. Enhance awareness about the mechanisms and risks associated with ransomware attacks.
  2. Develop strategies to safeguard systems and data from ransomware infiltration.
  3. Promote proactive measures such as offline backups to mitigate the impact of ransomware incidents.
